A Story...
What you’ve come across is the outcome of a 18hr55m layover in Chicago on my way over to Shanghai, China. What seemed like a misfortune at the time, turned out to be one of the most personally rewarding accomplishments I’ve come across. I am continually trying to better my web development and artistic skills while keeping them all documented and available for people to see. I envy most designers I see and am intimidated by their beautiful works. However, this site should give me a good playground to really expand what I want to do forever, and that’s design.
I checked into the Baymont Inn in chicago and started doodling… which turned into a list of things I want to do when I return from my trip… which actually then sparked the motivation to start organizing my portfolio that I’ve wanted for a while. I had no internet at the hotel, so it was all from the head. I started sketching a concept, then made a mockup in Photoshop and thought to myself, if I can make this in html/css by the end of the night, I’ll be very proud of myself. Only about an hour later I had passed that by a long shot, and it looked 100% identical.
A total of what I’d guess is 20-30 hours brings us to my first public release. This release is rough no doubt. But that’s the point! to further develop and expand it for…ever. This is a 100% home brewed theme with very little internet input (as i said, my internet has been limited the past 2 weeks). It’s my pleasure to say, browse around, let me know what you think.
Much love, kirk ![]()

View Image Info without Right Clicking
I’ve been right click-> view image info ‘ing for years now checking to make sure screenshots are the correct resolution and hosted at an appropriate host and finally got sick of it.
So I created a greasemonkey script that displays this information on hover. You can view it at http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/111604 . I’ve modified it for the ‘public’ because it was created for a certain site originally which would not help many people I don’t think.

Illustrator Tutorials
I’ve been doing a lot of Adobe Illustrator tutorials and wanted to post my progress, I’ll keep putting the new ones I complete in here (or get to lazy to complete). Unfortunately these aren’t my original arts, though they are created 100% by me, they are followed instruction to learn the program better.

Another night of fixing
It’s 11:59! woohoo! I might actually sleep before .. well not midnight now, but 1:00am hopefully. Today was another fun day of bugfixes and ocd fixings. I added a couple of things and finally finished the first version my mediocre sitemap. I’m really enjoying myself with this site and learning more than I could anywhere else. Much love to the blogging community that puts up so much information. So without further adieu ;
